Apex - the ending of the tooth root
Bicuspids - teeth between the canine teeth and molars
Cusp - a pointed ridge located on the chewing of biting surface of tooth
Cuspid - The third tooth from the center of the mouth. Also known as a canine tooth
Dentin - a mid part of tooth surrounding the pulp and covered by enamel
Enamel - the hard white outer covering of the tooth. Enamel is the hardest substance in the body.
Gingiva - this is soft tissue that covers the jawbone; Also known as gum tissue.
Molars - back teeth used for grinding food
Pulp - soft, spongy tissue in the center of the tooth containing blood vessels and nerves
Root - the tooth structure that connects the tooth to the jaw
Root canal - the space in the root of tooth that contains pulp tissue
